FINDLAY, Ohio - The Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer team made it seven wins in a row after posting a 3-2 comeback victory over the University of Findlay Oilers on Sunday afternoon. 

The Oilers got out to a 1-0 lead just 16:31 into the contest when Veselin Panchev put the home team up.

Saginaw Valley responded at the 42:16 marker of the first half when Andrew Dalou got a goal off a Troy Watson pass and knotted the score at 1-1. 

The score remained tied into the second half and at the 66:26 mark of the second period, Findlay's Ryan Husband found the back of the net to make the score 2-1 in advantage of the home squad.

That score held true until the 78:56 mark when Jordan Kalk scored his 20th goal of the season off a Tyler Channell feed to tie the score at 2-2.

The Cardinals would grab their first lead of the game not even a minute later when Channell scored a goal of his own, using a Matthew Lang pass to put the visitors up 3-2 at the 79:49 mark.

That would be the final score, as SVSU moved to 14-2-0 overall on the season and 12-1-0 in league play.

• Kalk's goal gave him 20 on the 2015 season, continuing to add onto his single season record and nationally-leading figure.
• Channell now has 18 goals and 14 assists, giving him 50 points on the 2015 season. 
• Dalou's goal marked four on the season for him.
• Watson now has three assists on the year after his helper on Dalou's goal.
• The Cardinals have now matched last year's win total of 14.
• Alexandre Bouillennec made three saves and upped his record to 14-1-0 overall on the season in his 90 minutes between the posts. 
• The Cardinals posted a 14-9 advantage in total shots in the game.

"We are extremely proud of the way the men fought their way back twice in this game and eventually score the game-winner. Findlay was very tough to play against and the field conditions made it tough for us to play our normal style. It wasn't pretty by any means but the character and fight we showed to come from 2-1 down with 12 minutes left was fantastic! I am pleased we managed to score two goals so quickly and turn the game on its head. I certainly credit Findlay for its desire and commitment today but I am simply overjoyed with the spirit my goup continues to show. We have a few days to recover and we will enjoy this victory because it showed a side to our game that makes me very proud to be their coach. It's back to work on Tuesday to prepare for our last GLIAC match of the season against Northwood."

Saginaw Valley takes on the Northwood University Timberwolves in a regular season-ending contest on Friday (Oct. 30) at 2:30 p.m. With Northwood coming off a 2-2 double overtime tie at Tiffin on Sunday, the Cardinals can seal the 2015 GLIAC championship with a victory or a tie against the T-Wolves. SVSU won the only other meeting between the two teams on Friday, September 11th with a score of 2-1 in Midland. The winner of Friday's finale will be crowned the GLIAC regular season champions and earn the right to host the 2015 GLIAC Tournament.
