TIFFIN, Ohio - The nationally 18th-ranked SVSU men's soccer team traveled to Ohio to begin the team's last road trip of the 2015 regular season. First up was Tiffin University in a Friday (Oct. 23) afternoon matchup. The Cardinals built a 2-0 first half lead and would maintain that advantage throughout the contest, sealing a two-goal victory to claim their 13th victory of the season.

The first score came at the 35:01 mark of the first half when Tyler Channell made good on a penalty kick to notch a goal and give the visitors a 1-0 lead. 

Just over a minute later with 36:10 showing on the clock, Jordan Kalk pushed the lead to 2-0 when he found the back of the net with a score of his own. 

SVSU's defense was able to fend-off nine Dragon shots overall and goalkeeper Alexandre Bouillennec made five saves to keep the clean sheet in-tact and preserve the victory.

  • Kalk's goal gives him 19 on the season and Channell now has 17 for the Cardinals. The two were first and second in the nation in goals scored, respectively, heading into today's match.
