Cardinal's Offense Lead to 4-0 Victory Against Malone

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer team played the Malone University Pioneers this afternoon in their first home GLIAC match of the season. The Cardinals scored quickly and often in the first few minutes of the game, leading to a 4-0 shutout.

SVSU scored twice before the four minute mark in the first half. The first goal came less than three minutes in from Matt Wilson with an assist from Jordan Kalk. The second goal hit the net a minute and a half later from the same players in reverse roles, Kalk making the goal off of an assist from Wilson. The goals were Wilson's and Kalk's third and fourth for the season, respectively.

The third goal was knocked in not too much later by Oluwatobi Oyeleye from the right side off an assist from Tyler Channell. Matt Wilson made the only goal of the second half at the 53 minute mark off of another assist from Channell.

The Cardinal defense only allowed one shot on goal from the Pioneers. SV had six shots on goal, two each from all three scorers.

Saginaw Valley plays again at home this Sunday (9/20) against Walsh University. The match is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. at SVSU's Braddock Field.
