Men's Soccer Takes On Dragons Today In GLIAC Semis

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer squad is set to face the Tiffin University Dragons today (Nov. 8) in the Semifinal round of the 2013 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament.  The match is set to begin at 4 pm at Panther Field on the campus of Ohio Dominican University.

The two teams have met twice in 2013, with both matches ending in a 1-1 tie.  The first featured a contest that was shortened due to bad weather, but was ruled official because it had surpassed the 70 minute mark.   The latter meeting was a double overtime thriller played at SVSU's Braddock Field.

If there's one thing for sure, this matchup won't result in a tie due to the postseason nature of the game, where one team has to advance.

The winner of today's matchup will advance to face the winner of the 7 pm showdown between the tournament's top-seeded Ohio Dominican Panthers and the #4 Lake Erie Storm.  The tourney final will be played on Sunday at 1 pm.

SVSU looks to successfully defend the 2012 GLIAC Tournament title it won on its way to a National Runner-up finish last season.
