#22 Cardinals Defeat Dragons, 2-0

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The #22 Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer team defeated Tiffin University, 2-0 today (Oct. 20) in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) contest.

The Cardinals took the 1-0 lead over the Dragons when freshman Tyler Channell (Troy, Mich.) scored his second game winning goal of the season off a pass from Conor Reaume (Troy, Mich.) in the first half of play.

Saginaw Valley extended their lead to 2-0 when Morley Burns (Rochester, Mich. / Adams HS) connected on a pass in the box to Reaume at the 54:19 mark of the game. Goaltender Jason Wise (Troy, Mich.) picked up his fourth shutout of the season saving all nine shots he faced on goal.

With the win the Cardinals improve to 10-2-3 overall on the season, and 6-2-2 in the GLIAC, while Tiffin falls to 7-5-2 overall on the season and 3-4-2 in the GLIAC. Saginaw Valley will be back in action on Saturday (Oct. 22) when they take on the University of Findlay. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
