UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University
men’s soccer team defeated Rochester College 2-0 this
afternoon (Oct. 3).
After a scoreless first half the Cardinals got on the board in the
58th minutes when freshman Zach Myers (Grand
Rapids, Mich. / Forrest Hills Eastern HS) scored his first career
goal off a pass from Andy Burgeson
(Shelby Township, Mich. / Utica Eisenhower HS) to put Saginaw
Valley up 1-0. Freshman Bryan Winnega (Troy,
Mich. / Troy HS) found the back of the net off a corner kick from
Ryan Seelhoff
(Owosso, Mich. / Owosso HS) to give the Cardinals the 2-0 final
over Rochester.
With the win Saginaw Valley improves to 3-6-2 overall on the
season, while Rochester College falls to 5-5-0 overall on the
season. The Cardinals will return to action on Sunday October 4
when they will host Lake Erie at 2:30 pm.
