UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley
State University men’s soccer team dropped a non-conference
game to Taylor University 2-1 this afternoon (Sept. 16).
The Cardinals fell behind 1-0 in the 32nd minute. Taylor would add
another goal at 48:17 to go up 2-0, before Daniel Simm (London,
England / Limestone College) found the back of the net at 70:07 to
cut the Trojan advantage 2-1. The Cardinals pressed late in the
game but could not find the tying goal. Saginaw Valley out-shot
Taylor 14-2 in the half and 20-7 for the game.
With the loss the Cardinals fall to 1-3-2 overall on the season
and Taylor improves to 3-5 overall on the season. Saginaw Valley
will return to action on Friday (Sept. 18) when they travel to
Tiffin for a 4:30 PM game.
