Saginaw Valley Loses to Northwood, 3-2

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer team lost today (Oct. 31) to Northwood, 3-2 in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) match-up on senior day.

The Cardinals got on the board first in the 21st minute of the games when Kevin Fox (Flushing, Mich.) found the back of the net on a pass from Zachary Myers (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forrest Hills Eastern HS).  Saginaw Valley would extend the lead to two going into the second half when Andy Burgeson (Shelby Township, Mich./Utica Eisenhower) netted a goal off a pass from Mackenzie Bechard (Shelby Township, Mich./Utica Eisenhower HS).  The Cardinals would not be able to find the back of the net again in the game, while Northwood would score three goals in the second half to give them the win.

The 2009 SVSU men's soccer season has now come to a conclusion.  The Cardinals ended the season with a 5-11-3 overall season record and a 1-6-1 GLIAC record.
