Men's Golf ties for Seventh at Doc Spragg Invitational

FINDLAY, Ohio – Saginaw Valley State University men's golf traveled to University of Findlay for the Doc Spragg Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. The team sent five to compete including Remy Stalcup, Joey Per, Jiseung Choi, Ethan Swenson, and Thomas Keyte. After sitting plus two and in tenth position at the conclusion of Monday, the team shot plus five and moved up to tie Malone for seventh out of 16 teams.

Stalcup and Per both shot under par to lead the team. Stalcup had rounds of 70, 70, and 72 which was good for four under par and was tied for sixth overall. Per had rounds of 70, 74, and 70 for two under par which tied him for 16th. Choi was in the middle of the pack with rounds of 74, 72, and 75 and was five over for the tournament. Swenson was eight over with rounds of 73, 75, and 76 and Keyte rounded out the performances with rounds of 76, 75, and 78.

The team will finish their fall competition at Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday, October 28 for a two-day tournament. They will return in early 2024 to begin their spring competition.
