SVSU men narrowly miss GLIAC semis, finishes Championships in 5th

AUGUSTA, Mich. -- The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team competed in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships this weekend from the Stoatin Brae Golf Club in Augusta, Mich. The Cardinals finished in fifth place in the team standings with a score of 594 after 36 holes. 

SVSU just missed the GLIAC match play semifinals as the top four teams qualified for the event Sunday. Northwood University finished just ahead of the Cardinals with a score of 593. 

The Cardinals were led by Joey Per in a tie for seventh place with a score of 144. Connor Jakacki and Nicklaus Bailey both finished tied for 19th with a 150, while Jiseung Choi completed the scoring for SVSU in a tie for 27th place with a 152. 

Michael Zanoni was the other Cardinal to compete. He finished in a tie for 33rd place with a 154.
