SVSU places second at Davenport Invitational

AUGUSTA, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team placed second in the team standings at the Panther Invitational at the Stoatin Brae Golf Club hosted by Davenport University. The Cardinals finished with a 292 on day one Saturday, and 291 on day two Sunday afternoon for a total team score of 583. Ohio Dominican University won the event with a team score of 580.

Leading SVSU was Brendon Gouin with a 144. The junior posted a 73 in round one, and closed the tournament with a 71, tying for fourth place individually. Behind Gouin, Connor Jakacki tied for sixth with a 145. Jiseung Choi and Nicklaus Bailey tied for 11th place with identical scores of 149. 

Also competing for the Cardinals was Joey Per in a tie for 18th place with a 151. Eddie Murphy finished tied for 20th with a 152. 

The Cardinals have completed the fall schedule and will return to action in the spring of 2022.
