Cardinals finish 11th at Motor City Invitational

DEARBORN, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team finished 11th in the team standings at the Motor City Invite hosted by Wayne State University on Monday afternoon. The Cardinals posted a team score of 605 over two rounds of golf at the TPC of Michigan golf course. 

SVSU was led by Brendon Gouin. The junior from Gaylord, Mich. shot a 73 on day one of the tournament on Sunday, and then posted a 75 on day two for an overall total of 148. Gouin finished tied for 32nd place in the individual standings. Right behind him was Connor Jakacki in 34th place with a two-day score of 149. Nicklaus Bailey finished tied for 46th place with a 153, and Jiseung Choi completed the scoring for SVSU in a tie for 53rd place with a 155.

Also competing for SVSU was Joey Per. The freshman finished tied for 70th place with a score of 159.

The Cardinals will be at the Davenport Panther Invitational starting next Saturday in Augusta, Mich. at the Gull Lake Golf Club.
