SVSU Men 6th After 36 Holes at Northwood Men's Invitational

MIDLAND -- The Cardinal Men's Golf team began competition on Sunday at the 2019 Northwood University Men's Invite, playing 36 holes for the first two rounds at the Midland Country Club. Saginaw Valley had rounds of 303 and 307 and are in sixth place heading into Monday's final round.

SVSU is three strokes behind Lake Superior State and five behind fourth place Ferris State. Wayne State leads after day one by 14 strokes over the host Timberwolves while Grand Valley State is in third.

Scores

  • Brady Dice shot rounds of 74-75 and is tied for 13th place overall to lead the Cardinals.
  • Gunnar Stein had the low round of 72 in the first 18 holes and had a 79 in the second. He is tied for 17th overall.
  • Jared Lyons is tied for 25th place after carding scores of 75-78.
  • Alex Dice had rounds of 82-85 and is tied for 42nd place.
  • Mitch Hughes competed as well, shooting 84-85 and he's in 59th place.
  • Competing as individuals, Nicklaus Bailey is tied for 35th (80-75), Jordan Weaver tied for 46th (82-77) and Brendon Gouin tied for 49th (85-76).

Up Next...

The Cardinals will play in the third and final round of the tournament on Monday. The final round will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a shotgun start.
