Men's Golf 5th After Day One at NMU Match Play Invite

MARQUETTE, Mich. -- The SVSU Men's Golf Team sits in 5th place after the opening day of the Northern Michigan University Match Play Invitational, played at the Greywalls Course of the Marquette Golf Club. 

Saginaw Valley is in the fifth slot, averaging 15 points per player after each had a trio of 9-hole matches. Wayne State currently leads while Ferris State and Northern Michigan each have an average of 16 points.

Dustin Pumford went 3-0 on Saturday, kicking-off his senior campaign with a nice start. Will Sattler, Alex Dice, JaredLyons and Gunnar Stein all posted 2-1 records in the first day as well.  

Steven Kish and Nicklaus Bailey competed as well, each going 1-2 on the opening day of the season.
