FINDLAY, Ohio -- The Saginaw Valley State University Men's Golf team has concluded its play at the 2018 NCAA Division II Midwest / Central Super Regionals. The Cardinals finished tied for 11th place overall, turning in a three-day total score of 886. 

SVSU shot rounds of 297-290-299 en route to the tie with Southwestern Oklahoma State in the 11th spot, just a single stroke behind Missouri Western State and Central Oklahoma. Indianapolis won the event with a total of 864. Indy will advance to the national championships, along with Tiffin, Missouri-St. Louis, Southeast Oklahoma State and Arkansas Tech.

Dustin Pumford finished-off his stellar performance for the Cardinals with a tie for 6th place finish. He narrowly missed out on qualifying for the NCAA Division II National Championships with his one-under par total for the tournament. He shot rounds of 74-69-72 for his 215 score. 

Austin Carter and Ryan Peruski each carded a round of 74 (+2) in their final rounds playing for Saginaw Valley. Carter ended up tied for 28th overall with his score of 221 (72-75-74) while Peruski was tied for 84th with rounds of 77-77-74 (228). Fellow senior Mason Motte shot a 79 (+7) while finishing tied for 91st with his scores of 78-73-79 (230). Jared Lyons shot a 79 on day three as well, finishing tied for 71st with his rounds of 74-73-79 (226).

Having not finished in the top-5 in the super regional event, the season is officially over for the Cardinals. Saginaw Valley will graduate three seniors from the 2017-18 squad, as Ryan Peruski, Austin Carter and Mason Motte have all finished their playing careers for the Cardinals.
