FINDLAY, Ohio -- The SVSU Men's Golf team opened competition on Monday (May 7) at the 2018 NCAA Division II Midwest / Central Super Regionals at the Findlay Country Club. The Cardinals fired a first round score of 297 (+9), just a pair of strokes behind 8th place Central Oklahoma. 

Tiffin leads after the first day after shooting a seven-under par team total of 281. Indianapolis is second with a one-under tally of 287. 

Austin Carter was the low man for the Cards on day one. He shot even-par with a 72 to lead and is tied for 18th overall. 

Dustin Pumford and Jared Lyons each shot a two-over round of 74 (+2) while Ryan Peruski had a 77 (+5) to round-out the team's scoring. Pumford and Lyons are tied for 32nd while Peruski is tied for 73rd. 

Mason Motte had a 78 (+6) while competing as well and is tied for 85th overall.
