Three Cardinals Earn All-GLIAC Men's Golf Accolades

GLIAC -- A trio of Saginaw Valley State University Men's Golf student-athletes earned All-GLIAC honors for their play during the 2017-18 season. Ryan Peruski and Austin Carter were named to the 2017-18 All-GLIAC Second Team while Mason Motte earned All-GLIAC Honorable Mention honors.

Peruski had a stroke average of 73.28 in his 25 rounds of action. He registered five top-10 finishes and three top-5 showings. His low round of the season came in the first round of the SVSU Spring Invitational, where he fired a 66 (-6). Peruski finished runner-up at the OVU Highlands Cup Challenge and was 4th at the Al Watrous Intercollegiate. 

Carter registered a stroke average of 73.48 in the regular season for the Cardinals, playing 25 rounds. He posted four top-10 showings and a pair of top-5 finishes. Carter had a pair of four-under par rounds of 68 as his low score of the season, as they came at the GLIAC North Invitational in the first round and the second round of the Greyhound Invitational. Carter finished third and runner-up at those tournaments, respectively. 

Motte averaged a score of 74.36 in his 25 rounds of action for Saginaw Valley. He posted four top-10 finishes and two top-5 showings. Motte shot a 65 (-5) in the second round of the OVU Highlands Cup Challenge and had a 67 (-5) in the second round of the Findlay Spring Invite.  He was fourth at the Findlay Spring Invite and fifth at the OVU Highlands Cup Challenge. 

The Cardinals will likely earn a bid to participate in the 2018 NCAA Division II Super Regionals, which are set to take place May 7-9 at the Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio.
