Cardinal Men finish 4th at GLIAC Championships

NASHPORT, Ohio -- The SVSU Men's Golf team finished in a tie for fourth place at the 2018 GLIAC Championships, wrapping-up competiton for the 2018 regular season.

The Cardinals tied Ashland in the three-day championship, as SVSU's three day total for the championships was 914 (316, 300, 298), six strokes behind Tiffin University in 3rd place. GVSU won the championships with a total score of 684.

Senior Ryan Peruski led the charge all weekend, posting a top-10 showing. Peruski put together rounds of 76-74-72 to tie for 7th place for SVSU.

Austin Carter tied for 17th overall with his point total of 229 (81-72-76). Jared Lyons and Mason Motte each had the second-best for the recap, as they posted a tie for 23rd and 37th, respectively.  Lyons was tied for 23rd while Motte is tied for 37th. Dustin Pumford had scores of 78 all weekend, going 78-78-78 for a tally of 234.

The team awaits final rankings but it is likely the Cardinals will qualify for the 2018 NCAA Division II Super Regionals. That golf tournament is being played at the Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio.
