LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The SVSU Men's Golf team had a phenomenal opening round at the 2018 SVSU Spring Invitational, which was played at the Par 72, 7,079 yard Kearney Hill Golf Links in Lexington, Kentucky. The Cardinals got under-par performances from three players, helping lead the team to a score of 277 (-11) and a three shot lead over Tiffin University.
Ryan Peruski led the charge on day one, firing a six-under par score of 66. He is tied for the first round lead with Tiffin's Noah Barth. Mason Motte was next, posting a score of 68 (-4). Austin Carter was in red figures as well, carding an opening round score of 69 (-3). Dustin Pumford rounded-out the team's scoring with a two-over par 74.
The Cardinal B team competed as well, with Wyatt Liston (76), Alex Dice (76), Stephen Kish (77) and Jordan Weaver (79) teaming-up for their score of 308. That has them in 17th place overall.

The Cardinals will play in the second and final round on Sunday, which will feature a 10:00 a.m. shotgun start in Kentucky.
