Men's Golf Finishes Third at GLIAC North Invitational

SOUTH HAVEN -- The SVSU Men's Golf team, coming off a fourth place showing on day one of the GLIAC North Invitational, bumped up one spot and finished in third place at the tournament. The Cardinals shot rounds of 291-293 to finish with an eight-over total of 584. 

Grand Valley State finished in second place with a score of 581 while Wayne State won the tournament with a two day total of 569.

Scores

  • Austin Carter followed up an opening round of 68 with an even par 72. He finished tied for third place with a total of 140 (-4). He earned all-tournament honors for his performance.
  • Gunnar Stein was named to the all-tournament team as well after his solid weekend. He followed his first round score of 70 with an even par 72. His 142 (-2) was good enough for a fifth place finish for SVSU. 
  • Dustin Pumford had a 74 in the final round, finishing in a tie for 24th overall with scores of 76-74 (+6). 
  • Ryan Peruski and Mason Motte shot the same score in both rounds, finishing with scores of 77-75 to tie for 36th with counts of 152 (+8). 

Up Next...

The Cardinals travel to play at the Findlay Invitational this upcoming weekend. The event will run Sunday (Sep. 24) through Monday at the Red Hawk Golf Course in Findlay, Ohio.
