Men's Golf Leads After Round One of Al Watrous Invitational

BAY CITY -- The SVSU Men's Golf team opened play at the 2017 Al Watrous Invitational Tournament with a stellar first round, as the Cardinals hold a one stroke lead after day one. 

Saginaw Valley was led by a five-under par 67 by Ryan Peruski and lead GVSU by a single stroke with an opening score of 283. Peruski is the co-leader after 18 holes.

Austin Carter joined Peruski in red figures for the Cardinals, posting a 69 (-3) in round one. He is tied for 4th place overall.

Gunnar Stein is tied for 13th after the first competitive round of his collegiate career. He carded an even par 72.

Jared Lyons rounded-out the team's scoring, notching a round of 75 and is tied for 41st.

The Saginaw Valley White Team had a solid showing as well, sitting in third place after a first round score of 288.

Jordan Weaver had a two-under round of 70 and is tied for 6th place.

Alexander Dice shot even par at 72 and is tied for 13th with Stein.

Dustin Pumford and Wyatt Liston each shot a one-over score of 73 for the White team to round-out the scoring.
