Peruski wins Purgatory Regional after opening round 67

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. - Ryan Peruski claimed his first collegiate victory at the Purgatory Regional, as his five-under score of 67 held up as the final due to the second round being cancelled because of bad weather.

The 67 led the Cardinals to a runner-up finish of 291, six strokes behind tourney winner, Grand Valley State.

Teammate Mason Motte also earned all-tournament honors, finishing in the top-5 with his two-under par score of 70.

Dustin Pumford posted a 76 (+4) in his opening round while Austin Carter had a 78 (+6). Pumford is tied for 40th overall while Carter is tied for 74th. 

Jared Lyons competed as well, scoring a first round score of 80.

The Cardinals compete next in the 2017 GLIAC Championships, which are set to take place Apr. 21-23 at the Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio.
