NOBLESVILLE, Ind. - Battling tough, wet conditions once again, the SVSU men's golf team improved four spots and six strokes, finishing in a tie for 13th place at the Purgatory Regional Tournament. The Cardinals followed up their opening round score of 315 with a 309 to finish with the final tally of 624. 

Saginaw Valley finished two strokes behind Illinois-Springfield and Ohio Dominican. Northwood won the tournament with a final score of 600.

Ryan Peruski finished with the low number for SV in the second round, carding a 74 (+2). He tied for 49th overall after his scores of 82-74 (156, +12). Mason Motte had a 77 in round two, posting the best overall finish for SVSU after scores of 75-77 (152, +8). Michael Hansen followed up his first round score of 79 with a 78 to finish at 157 (+13). He finished in a tie for 60th overall. Tommy Prato (79-82) and Dustin Pumford (83-80) finished the scoring for the Cardinals.

The Cards return to the course this weekend for the 2016 GLIAC Championships. The tournament is set to take place Friday through Sunday at the Longaberger Golf Course in Nashport, Ohio.
