Cardinals Finish Fifth at SVSU Spring Invitational

GEORGETOWN, Ky. - The SVSU men's golf team followed up an opening round of 301 and shot a 302 in its second round to finish in fifth place at the SVSU Spring Invitational. The tournament was hosted by the Cards at the Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown, Kentucky.

The Cardinals finished three shots behind both Bellarmine University and Hillsdale College, which both tied for third with a two-day total of 600. Ohio Dominican University was second with a 598 while the Tiffin University Dragons claimed the victory with a two-day tally of 574.

Mason Motte followed up a first round 75 with an even-par score of 72 to tie for 10th place overall with a 147 (+3).

Ryan Peruski finished tied for 24th place after shooting 76-76 (+8) in the two-day event. Michael Hansen matched Peruski's finish, as he had twin rounds of 76-76 as well in the event.

Dustin Pumford (74-81, +11) tied for 39th overall while Steven Kish (75-85, +16) tied for 56th competing as an individual. Alexander Dice (83-78, +17) finished in a tie for 59th place for the Cardinals.

Saginaw Valley is back on the course again Friday (Mar. 25) when the Cardinals travel to play in the GLIAC South Invitational. The tournament is slated to take place at the Andover Country Club in Lexington, Kentucky.
