GEORGETOWN, Ky. - The SVSU men's golf team is in third place at the SVSU Spring Invitational after the opening round of play on Saturday.
The Cardinals shot 13-over par as a team and sit five shots behind second place Hillsdale College. Tiffin University leads the event after shooting even par for the first 18 holes.
Dustin Pumford led the Cards with a two-over par 74 and sits in a tie for 13th place overall. Mason Motte and Steven Kish are +3 and are tied for 17th overall while Ryan Peruski is in a tie for 23rd with a first round score of 76 (+4). Alexander Dice shot an opening round of 78 (+6) for the Cardinals.
Saginaw Valley continues play on Sunday (Mar. 20) in the second round of play at the Cherry Blossom Golf Course.
