CHICAGO - Following an opening round score of 303 that had the SVSU men's golf team in a tie for 21st place after the first round of the opening NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament, the Cardinals finished in a three-way tie for 15th place after shooting a second round 323.

In contrast to Monday's opening round where conditions were ideal, Tuesday's weather featured plenty of wind, mixed with some rain, and made scoring much more difficult for the teams.

The 626 total score knotted Saginaw Valley with GLIAC foe Malone University and Rockhurst University in the 15th spot overall. Ferris State University shot a second round score of 313 to claim the championship with a final count of 597.

Ryan Peruski was once again the low scorer for SVSU, as he followed his opening round of 71 with a 77 to tie for 7th overall with a 148 (+4). He has finished in the top-10 in the first three events of the 2015-16 season for the Cardinals.

Dustin Pumford carded a 77 as well for SV on day two and finished with a 155 (+11) after coupling that score with his first round card of 78. That tied hime for 46th place overall.

Mason Motte shot rounds of 78-83 for Saginaw Valley while Steven Kish (76-90, 166) and Alexander Dice (81-86, 167) rounded-out the competitors for the Cardinals.

The team is scheduled to compete at the Kyle Ryman Memorial Tournament, hosted by Tiffin University Saturday and Sunday of this upcoming weekend. The event is set to be held at the Mowhawk Golf & Country Club in Tiffin, Ohio.
