Golfers Sit in Eighth After First Round of GLIAC North Invitational

SOUTH HAVEN - The SVSU men's golf team opened play at the 2015 GLIAC North Invitational with round of 301 at the HawksHead Golf Links in South Haven, Michigan. The score has SVSU two strokes behind seventh place Grand Valley State. Northern Michigan leads the way after 18 holes after shooting a +3 round of 288 as a team. 

The team was led by Mason Motte, who fired an even par round of 72 and sits in a tie for 5th place after 18 holes of play. Ryan Peruski was next, as he shot a 74 (+2) and is tied for 21st place. Tommy Prato (77, +5) and Michael Hansen (78, +6) rounded-out the scoring for the Cardinals in round one and are in ties for 38th and 47th place, respectively.

Saginaw Valley will return to the course on Monday morning, as the teams will shotgun off the course at 8:30 a.m.
