Men's Golf Finishes Sixth at NMU Invitational

MARQUETTE - The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team finished in sixth place at the 2015 Northern Michigan University Invitational, hosted at the Greywalls Golf Course in Marquette, Michigan.

After being tied for third place with a first round score of 313, the Cardinals posted a 333 in the second round of play to finish behind Wayne State, which finished with a total of 619. Northern Michigan won the event with a total of 612 (307-305).

Ryan Peruski tied for third place overall after shooting rounds of 74-76 for a 150 total. Lake Superior's Zach Carson won the event with a score of 146 and he was followed by runner-up McKinlay Crawford from Wayne State who shot a 148.

Mason Motte finished tied for 22nd with scores of 75-85 for SVSU while Dustin Pumford (79-86) and Tommy Prato (81-84) both tied for 31st with a total score of 165.

Saginaw Valley continues play September 20-21 at the GLIAC North Invitational, which will be played at the HawksHead Golf Links in South Haven, Michigan.
