NORMAN, Okla. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team earned a 2014 National Team Academic Award from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) for its great work in the classroom during the 2013-14 season.
The Cardinals were honored with a national All-Academic Team award, which is handed-out to teams which compile an average GPA of over a 3.0 over the course of the season.
SVSU posted a team GPA of 3.136 in 2013-14, a season that featured the squad qualifying for the Division II National Championships.
The team's success academically is part of a Saginaw Valley State University Athletic Department that has posted a 3.0 GPA or better for student-athletes in six-straight semesters.
