Tre Garrett Earns Second GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week Honors

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University senior guard Tre Garrett was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) men's basketball player of the week when the league office announced the weekly winners on Monday.

Garrett continued his dominant play at home moving the needle on his career-high for points to 41 to lead the Cardinals against Davenport. That total was eight points shy of the single-game record for SVSU and is the first time in Garrett's career that he reached the 40-point mark. He followed that performance up by continuing his career-best performance streak with a team-high 21 points and seven rebounds, the final board equaled 500 career rebounds for the Saginaw, Michigan native. Garrett completed the week going 21-35 (.600) from the floor and 18-21 (.857) from the free throw line.

This is the second player of the week award for Garrett this season (he was awarded the offensive player of the week award two weeks ago). Garrett will lead the Cardinals in two road tests this week with a game against Ferris State on Thursday and Lake Superior State on Saturday.
