GLIAC -- SVSU Men's Basketball sophomore guard Darnell Hoskins Jr. has been selected as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Division Player of the Week after leading the Cardinals to a pair of wins this past weekend.

Hoskins led the Cardinals to a home sweep as SVSU beat Wayne State, 72-59, on Thursday night before posting a 59-56 victory over No. 18 Ashland on Saturday. Hoskins averaged 26.0 ppg, 4.0 apg and 3.0 rpg in the two contests. The highlight of the weekend came in his career-best 28-point performance in the win Saturday over the Eagles, where he hit a pair of late triples, including the game-winner with two seconds remaining. In Thursday's victory over Wayne State, he became the program's single season leader in three-point field goals. He now has 83, which is nine more than the previous record of 74.

Saginaw Valley finishes the 2018-19 season Thursday (Feb. 28) on the road at Northwood University. Tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m. at NU's Riepma Arena.
