UNIVERSITY CENTER -- Saginaw Valley State University Men's Basketball head coach Randy Baruth has announced the addition of C.J. Wilson to the program. Wilson, a 5-10 guard from Pontiac, Michigan, is a transfer from Henry Ford Community College.

C.J. prepped at Orchard Lake St. Mary's Prep before playing at Henry Ford. While at Henry Ford, he averaged 14.3 ppg and shot 40.4% from the floor in his 28 games of action. He went for 20-plus points four times, including 29 in a game against Kalamazoo Valley. While prepping at Orchard Lake St. Mary's, he averaged 24 points per game and six assists per contest. He finished in the top-five in all-time scoring in school history.

Wilson on becoming an SVSU Men's Basketball student-athlete...

"I picked SVSU because the environment and atmosphere is great. I think the university suits me because when I step on to campus, the coaching staff and players make me feel as if I am a part of the SVSU family. I would like to thank the coaching staff for giving me an opportunity to be a part of the program and further my basketball career."

Henry Ford CC head coach Chris Shepard...

"C.J. is a tremendous leader on and off the floor. His work ethic is second to none and he is a relentless competitor. On the floor he always made big shots when we needed them, and his tremendous basketball IQ allowed him to make high level decisions. He is a special player but more importantly a better person."

Randy Baruth on the addition of C.J. to the program...

"We are very excited to add C.J. to our program. He comes highly recommended from everyone he's played for and we feel he will be a great fit at SVSU. His desire to win and how hard he plays will mesh perfectly with our team. His vision and unselfish mentality will allow him to be a key contributor for us next season."
