Chase Meredith Joins the SVSU Men's Basketball Program

UNIVERSITY CENTER -- SVSU Men's Basketball head coach Randy Baruth has announced the addition of Chase Meredith to the program. Meredith, a 6-6 forward from Canton High School, will join the Cardinals for the upcoming 2018-19 season.

Chase was a three-sport athlete in high school, participating in basketball, football and lacrosse. He was named to the All-Metro West Team and KLAA Honorable Mention squad his senior season as well as 4th Team All-State honors.

Chase Meredith on becoming a Cardinal...

"I'm beyond honored and excited to be attending Saginaw Valley State next year. I've always dreamed of playing basketball at the next level, and none of this would be possible without the people that helped along the way. My coaches, my family, my teammates all helped me pursue continuing my career."

Canton High School head coach James Reddy...
"Chase is an extremely skilled player who can score in many ways and one of his best attributes is his ability to pass. Chase is someone who has gotten better every year and as a three sport athlete in high school, I think he is only going to make greater strides in the next four or five years as he solely focuses on basketball."

Randy Baruth on the addition of Chase to the program...

"Chase will be a welcomed addition to the program after a successful career at Canton High School. We are very intrigued to see what he can develop into when he focuses on only basketball after being a multi-sport athlete during high school. He already has great size, athleticism, and skill so the sky is the limit."
