Men's Basketball Team Lends a Hand in the Community

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's basketball team recently went out and spent some quality time with some of the youth in the community.

The men volunteered at the Freeland Elementary School Carnival, working games and exchanging good times and laughter with students and parents of the school.

Next was a basketball clinic at Center Courts in Saginaw that the team volunteered at.  The guys spent time teaching drill work and the fundamentals of the game to kids while interacting throughout the event.

"It's always a good time when we get out there and work with the kids in the surrounding community," said SVSU Men's Head Coach Randy Baruth.  "Not only do the kids enjoy our company, but our student-athletes get a real satisfaction from helping with these events and enjoy it just as much!"
