WEEK SEVEN PREVIEW: Cardinals host No. 8 Greyhounds for Homecoming

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University football team is set to host its third consecutive matchup against a highly-ranked opponent with a Homecoming Day matchup against No. 8 University of Indianapolis at 2 pm on Saturday at Wickes Stadium.

The Cardinals fell to a Top-10 team for the second straight game last week, losing to No. 1 Ferris State University 33-28 at Wickes Stadium. The Cardinals play a third straight game against a nationally ranked opponent, with No. 8 Indianapolis today at Wickes Stadium. Saturday's game is the fourth this season for SVSU against a top-10 team.

SVSU was held to 247 yards of total offense against Ferris State but took advantage of 203 yards of penalties assessed to the Bulldogs to stay in front throughout most of the second half. Ferris State scored 13 unanswered points, taking the lead with just over a minute remaining and holding on to top the Cardinals.

SVSU enters Saturday, receiving votes in the AFCA NCAA DII National top-25 Coaches Poll, falling out of the top-25 for the first time since week two.

The Greyhounds survived a road matchup at McKendree University last weekend, winning 38-23. Toriano Clinton racked up 317 all-purpose yards and five touchdowns, including 272 yards on the ground.
