WEEK ONE: SVSU Football opens 2021 at home Under the Lights on Saturday

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valle State University football team is set for year two under Head Coach Ryan Brady, as the Cardinals look to return to the top of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

SVSU will return key performers from the 2019 season,  including several at the playmaking positions on offense. Running backs Tommy Scott and Chris Nelson will look to fill the production load left by former Cardinal Nate McCrary. Wide receivers Chad Gailliard and Casey Williams, along with tight ends Jack Morris and Duke Angers will provide a new SVSU quarterback with several experienced targets in the passing game.

Brady will look to DJ Summerville to anchor the offensive line in 2021.

The defensive backfield for the Cardinals will include key returners Marvin White, Nick Whiteside, and Michael Woolridge, while the defensive line will rely on ends Dillon Webb and Jacob Dorn.

The Cardinals open the 2021 season under the lights against Texas A&M-Kingsville at 7 pm on Saturday Wickes Stadium in University Center, Mich.
