MARQUETTE -- The Cardinal Football team hit the road for another GLIAC tilt, this time taking on the Northern Michigan Wildcats at the Superior Dome. Saginaw Valley was dominant throughout, racking-up a season-high 657 yards of total offense while putting together a complete victory by a score of 56-10.
SVSU jumped-out to a 21-0 lead in the contest after the first quarter, using a 3 yard touchdown run from Nate McCrary and long passing strikes of 87 yards and 61 yards from Ryan Conklin to Chad Gailliard.
After Northern Michigan got a 50 yard field goal from Daniel Riser to make the score 21-3 the Cardinals answered with a 90 yard touchdown run from McCrary on the next play.
The Wildcats got their lone touchdown of the game on the next drive to make the score 28-10 but the Cards responded with a 69 yard TD pass play to Casey Williams from Conklin and a four yard strike from Tye Mintz to Gavin Barnes, putting the score at 42-10 at the halftime break. It was Gavin's first career receiving score.
Mintz would add a touchdown pass to Gailliard in the third quarter and Conklin added his fourth TD strike to Dominick Fiscelli for a touchdown reception. That made the count 56-10 through three quarters. It marks Fiscelli's first receiving score of the season and second of his career.
There was no scoring in the final quarter and the Cards closed-out for the win, scoring their most points since the 2016 season with the 56-10 win.

- Conklin finished with a career-best 319 yards and four touchdowns, connecting on 10-of-15 pass attempts.
- Gailliard reeled-in four catches for 175 yards and matched his career-best with three TD. He was named the Meijer "Player of the Game."
- Williams had a career-best 162 yards receiving with a touchdown on seven catches.
- McCrary finished with two touchdowns and 151 yards on the ground on just 11 carries.
- Mintz had 79 yards rushing and was 4-of-5 through the air for 51 yards and his first two career passing scores.
- Austin Egler led the defensive effort with eight tackles and 1.5 TFL.
- Justin Whitted, David Still and Heath Williams each added seven stops, with Still adding a half-sack.

Saginaw Valley rounds-out the 2019 season with a home game versus Davenport University on Saturday (Nov. 16). Kickoff will be 1:00 p.m. at Wickes Stadium. We will have the senior day ceremony pregame as well for the Cardinals.
