GLIAC -- Saginaw Valley State University junior defensive back Marvin White has been selected as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Defensive Player of the Week following the team's 35-14 season opening victory at Texas A&M-Kingsville.
White had a standout season opener in the Cardinals' 35-14 road victory at Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday night. White recorded seven tackles and had an interception that he brought back 71 yards for a touchdown. It was White's second career pick-six for SVSU, which forced five turnovers overall defensively on Saturday against the Javelinas.
The Cardinals return to the field on Saturday (Sep. 14), as they host Tiffin University in a 1:00 p.m. matchup at Wickes Stadium. You can purchase your tickets for the home opener in advance here.
