BAY CITY, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State Unviersity senior safety Matt McKoy has been selected as the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week after his week two performance in the team's 20-14 overtime Axe Bowl Victory over Northwood on Saturday.
McKoy had a pair of interceptions, including a 94-yard return for the Cardinals' first touchdown in a 20-14 overtime victory over Northwood to claim the Axe Bowl. McKoy added 11 tackles in the contest for another solid effort at the safety position for SVSU.
Matt ranks sixth in the GLIAC with an average of 11.0 tackles per contest and his two interceptions rank him atop of the league.
