Jatczak Wins GLIAC Player of the Week

Jatczak Wins GLIAC Player of the Week

Saginaw Valley senior Hayden Jatczak earned his second GLIAC Player of the Week honors as he batted .500 going 11-for-22 with eight walks in the six games for the Cardinals this week. The Bay City native helped SVSU to five wins as he scored 11 runs and drove in nine while hitting two doubles and three home runs. Jatczak's presence was respected by opposing pitching as he was intentionally walked three times, all of them after seeing multiple pitches in the at-bat. Jatczak has continued his dominance at the plate and nears multiple single-season records for SVSU while fighting for a top-five spot in batting average in the nation.

SVSU baseball heads on the road for the final GLIAC road trip of the regular season this weekend. The Cardinals travel to Hammond, Indiana to play Purdue Northwest in a four-game series starting with a single game on Friday at 4:00 PM EST.
