SVSU Baseball Announces 2019 Signing Class

SVSU Baseball Announces 2019 Signing Class

UNIVERSITY CENTER -- Saginaw Valley State University Baseball Head Coach Steve Jaksa has officially announced the next recruiting class for the Cardinals, which is his first at the helm of the program. The Cardinals welcome five student-athletes to the program, all joining for the spring of 2020.

"We are really excited about the five young men that we are bringing in during this early signing period. We will be looking for then to fill a few holes right off the get-go. I like having flexibility with our middle infielders as well and Brandon Scheurer and Logan Welch certainly fit the bill there. They can play multiple spots in the middle infield and that's always a great thing to have. Hunter Merillat will be in a position to help us in a lot of different spots as well with the versatility he has displayed during his career. Aaron Goschke is a left-handed pitcher, which fills one of our biggest immediate needs on our roster, and Colin Cornwell will give us great range in the outfield and a good bat from the left side. These guys are very nice additions for our program and will be in a great position to help Cardinal baseball into the future."
