UNIVERSITY CENTER -- The 2016-17 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District™ Baseball Team has been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. SVSU senior third baseman Chad Carson has been selected to the 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District Four First Team after his performance on the field and in the classroom this season.

Carson has had a stellar 2017 campaign to round-out his career in an SVSU uniform. The senior is hitting .387 on the season with 17 doubles, three home runs and 28 RBI. He has drawn 18 walks as well whie posting a .489 on-base percentage. his 14 hit-by-pitches lead the GLIAC. Chad has a fielding percentage of .918 as well while playing the hot corner on 110 total chances. He carries a 3.64 cumulative GPA as well, majoring in nursing at SVSU. 

First-team Academic All-District™ honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and thirdteam All-America® honorees will be selected later this month.
