BAY CITY, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University junior relief pitcher D.J. Reetz has been selected as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) "Pitcher of the Week."

Reetz was clutch for Saginaw Valley on the mound over the past week while helping the Cardinals post a 5-2 record, including a weekend sweep of Ohio Dominican University.  Reetz posted a 0.00 ERA in 6.2 innings of work, picking up a victory and two saves.  The highlight of the week was his 4.0 innings of relief in his victory at Hillsdale on April 23rd where he struck-out eight batters.  Reetz didn't allow a single hit or run, only walked one batter and struck-out 12 for the week.  He is fourth in the GLIAC with a .107 batting average against.

He joins SVSU starter Andrew Geese as the two Cardinals to be honored as the league's pitchers of the week.  Geese earned the honor two weeks ago.

The team is in action again on Wednesday, as it faces Hillsdale College in a single nine inning game at 2:00 pm at the SVSU Baseball Complex.
