UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University baseball team was represented by freshman Dylin Eschenburg (Shelby Township, Mich. / Utica Eisenhower) and sophomore Brad Schalk (Sterling Heights, Mich. / Bishop Foley) on the 2013 All-GLIAC awards list.

Both student-athletes were named to the All-GLIAC Honorable Mention team.

Dylin Eschenburg, the starting second baseman for the Cardinals, has excelled in his first year in the SVSU Red, White and Blue. Eschenburg compiled a .301 batting average over the 38 games in the regular season, including the 10th best total in conference play at .349.

The freshman posted 21 runs, 11 RBI and helped turn 25 double plays on defense. Eschenburg's best showing of the year came in a wild 13-10 SVSU victory at Walsh where he recorded three RBI with a pair of runs scored, two hits and three walks.

Brad Schalk, the starting center fielder and leadoff hitter for Saginaw Valley, is proving to be one of the most consistent players in the GLIAC. Schalk put together the sixth best batting average in the league this season (.375) and eighth overall (.357).

Schalk's 50 hits leads the Cardinals as does his 166 plate appearances. Brad has also been a reliable part of the SVSU outfield with just three errors on the year with four assists.
