The final run for the Cardinals was scored in the fourth inning, as Dore would advance home on a Thomas fly-out to left field.  The Dragons would score three runs in the bottom of the fourth and four in the bottom of the fifth inning to clinch the victory, 9-8.

Saginaw Valley was lead overall by Thomas who ended the first game with three hits on four plate appearances and posted three RBIs on the afternoon.  Webber and Dore both finished with two runs on four at bats and had one RBI.
