Meemic Insurance Academic Awards Banquet
Every year the Saginaw Valley State University Athletic Department honors student-athletes at the Academic Awards Banquet. Students that were named to the Dean's or President's List in the past year are invited to receive awards based on their academic achievements.
The department hands out annual Team GPA Awards, which go to the male and female teams with the highest average GPA. For the past seven semesters, the Athletic Department has posted an overall GPA above a 3.0.
Another award included is the George Eastland GPA Award, which is awarded annually to the top female and male senior student athletes with the highest GPA in the department.
The department also hands out the annual Elite 17 Awards, which go to the individuals with the highest GPA in their respective sport.
