Sarah Tabit - Volleyball
SVSU senior outside hitter, Sarah Tabit, earns Cardinal Athlete of the Week honors after leading the Cardinals to an undefeated weekend to end regular season play with wins over Northern Michigan, 3-0, and #21 Michigan Tech, 3-2.. The Cardinals improve to 20-7 overall, 12-4 in conference play, and have earned the #4 seed in the GLIAC Tournament.
In the three-set sweep of the Wildcats Tabit led the Cardinals in kills with 14 and had a hitting percentage of .435. Tabit added two assists, a service ace, and nine digs in the win over NMU. In the thrilling five set win over #21 Michigan Tech, Tabit led the Cardinals with a career high 30 kills in the match. Tabit is the current GLIAC leader in kills with 441 this season and is the new kills per set leader with 4.28.
SVSU will host the Wayne State Warriors Wednesday (Nov. 20) in the Quarterfinals of the GLIAC Tournament. The first serve set for 7:00 p.m. in the Hamilton Gymnasium.
