Pedro Rezende - Swim and Dive
SVSU sophomore swimmer, Pedro Rezende, has been named the Cardinal Athlete of the week following his performances against the Valparaiso Crusaders.
Rezende earned first place finishes in the 1650-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle in the Cardinals 140-65 win over the hosting Crusaders. He timed in at 16:41.75 for the 1650-yard freestyle which was 20 seconds ahead of the next competitor. Rezende earned a time of 4:58.02 in the 500-yard freestyle edging out teammate Isaac Inman for the win. Rezende was also the anchor leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay team that placed fourth overall coming in at 3:31.60.
The Cardinals head to their mid-season invitational, which will be the Wabash Invitational this upcoming weekend. The action begins on Friday (Nov. 22) in Indiana.
