Malik Ellison — Men's Basketball
Junior guard Malik Ellison led the Cardinals over the week to a 1-1 split with a win over Lake Superior State and a close loss to #11 Ferris State. The win over LSSU was the Cardinals seventh win in-a-row and the loss to the Bulldogs snapping the win streak. The Cardinals are now 11-4 overall record and remain second in the GLIAC with a 5-2 record.
Ellison had 22 points with four rebounds and eight assists in the 79-66 win over LSSU. The eight helpers were a career-high for Malik and he was named the Meijer "Player of the Game" for his performance in the win over the Lakers.
In the 86-82 loss to #11 Ferris State, Ellison finished with a game and career-high 30 points, connecting on 8-of-16 tries and 6-of-10 shots from beyond the arc. He added five rebounds, four assists and three steals while being named the Meijer "Player of the Game."
