Kairo Coore - Men's Soccer
SVSU freshman, Kairo Coore, has been named the Cardinal Athlete of the week following his stellar performance in road shutouts against Purdue Northwest and Upper Iowa. The Cardinals improve to 11-5-1 overall and 9-4 in GLIAC play.
Coore had a pair of goals, one in each match. His first goal of the weekend came in the 3-0 victory over Purdue Northwest at the 53' mark on a feed from Robbie Bruce. The second goal of the weekend came in the match against Upper Iowa as Coore beat the Peacock defenders to find the back of the net in the 79th minute of the match. Coore now has six goals on the season which is tied for second on the team.
SVSU is back in action Friday (Nov. 8) as they hit the road to take on cross-town rivals Northwood University. First touch is set for 2:00 p.m.
